Behind the build.
Guide Architecture provided full architectural and interior design services for the Emergency Department Expansion at Methodist Charlton Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. The project expands the existing emergency care footprint to meet growing community demand and improve operational efficiency for Methodist Health System. The design adds new treatment bays, trauma rooms, and rapid-assessment spaces while reconfiguring existing triage, imaging, and support areas to optimize patient flow and staff circulation.
The expansion includes upgraded infrastructure, enhanced nurse visibility, improved infection control measures, and dedicated entries for ambulance and walk-in patients. Finishes and lighting were selected to promote a calming environment while maintaining the durability required for a 24/7 high-acuity setting. The project also integrates modern technology for real-time patient tracking and future adaptability for evolving emergency care models.Guide Architecture collaborated closely with hospital administration, clinical leadership, and facility engineers to deliver a phased implementation plan that minimized disruption to ongoing emergency operations.
